The Center on Conscience & War is the only organization in the country that solely focuses on the issue of conscientious objection. To support our mission of extending and defending the rights of conscientious objectors we offer the following services free on charge:
- Counsel military conscientious objectors.
- Known amongst the military counseling community as an authority on military conscientious objection.
- Knowledgeable and experienced staff.
- Provide legal support for military personnel.
- CO’s filing habeas petitions in federal court
- Support international conscientious objectors (Greece, Israel, Russia, Colombia, Turkey)
- Appeal for Redress
- Lobby Congress to extend and defend the rights of conscientious objectors.
- Military Conscientious Objector Act
- Advocate against draft authorization and poverty conscription such as the 2007 DREAM Act.
- Provide accurate information on Selective Service registration.
- Provide support to COs who refuse to register for the draft through our F.E.A.T foundation
- Counsel soldiers on the GI Rights Hotline
- Military counter-recruitment information
- Alternatives to Enlistment, Alternatives to Killing Campaign
- DEP Brochure
- Provide workshops, training, and speakers on any of the above topics.
